I’ve been looking into getting our carpets cleaned for a while and after getting quotes of over $100. Then, I looked into renting a cleaner from Home Depot, but the process of going there, picking it up, and being under pressure to complete the house in 24-48 hours was the reason my carpets remained dirty.
Then ALDI brought in a carpet cleaner for $59.99. I love all things ALDI including their lenient return policy so I decided to give it a shot. Yesterday, I cleaned our rug with just water and OMG it was NASSSSTTTYYYY. All these hairballs kept coming out of the carpet and this was after I used my Dyson v7 stick vacuum on the max setting.
I did not spray the carpet with any cleaner solutions before hand, but I also did not have any major stains to take out. If you have major stains, I recommend using a carpet cleaner solution on the carpet before hand, letting it sit before going over it with the steamer.
I didn’t want to move our entire rug outside to clean it and luckily this vacuum doesn’t oversaturate as it cleans so my wood underneath remained dry and unaffected. I tested a small patch at the corner of the rug to be sure.
The key thing with carpet cleaning is to move the vacuum slowly and go one section at a time. Only move to the next section once the initial area is cleaned.
Brace yourself… this is what came out of my 1.5 year old rug that in my eyes wasn’t THAT dirty (Obviously it was) and I didn’t use any soap or carpet cleaner solutions and kind of want to go back and do it once more with a solution to see if more nasties come out.
The ALDI carpet cleaner is light weight, affordable and easy to set up and use. I can’t recommend it enough!!!
