I’m a big book worm. There is nothing better than curling up with a good book on the couch next to the fireplace when it’s below zero outside. Winter has approached us quickly even though this year felt way too long.
Here are some of my favorite books to get you through winter.
The Bollywood Affair by Sonali Dev
I love the way Sonali Dev writes. This was the first of her books that I read and then I tore through the rest immediately afterward. She has a beautiful way of storytelling and I felt closer to my culture reading her work.
One Indian Girl by Chetan Bhagat
This is from the writer of 3 Idiots and 2 States. He’s an Indian author with amazing talent. This story kept me on my toes and I can’t wait to watch it on the big screen.
Where’d You Go Bernadette? by Maria Semple
This book was so different than anything I’ve ever read. It was witty with such a unique voice and story. The movie doesn’t do it justice.
There’s nothing I love more than a thriller. It’s so difficult for me to stop reading once it gets going because I need to know who did what and how. More so, I need to know if my predictions are right. They usually aren’t because I can never guess the twist. This one is definitely a page-turner.
This book landed in my hands from a friend and I finished it in one day!!!! Yes it’s that good… go read it!
I read this book several years ago and it still sits in my heart. I love when books sit with you for a while and leave you yearning for more.
Alka Joshi is a mastermind. I usually do not like historical fiction, but that has changed after reading this book. She has been able to weave together a complex and beautiful story set in 1950s Rajasthan. You won’t regret this read.
The book everyone is talkinng about. Saumya Dave creates a character that is so relatable! I wish I was her at her age.
I will devour anything Liane Moriarty writes and this was one of her best books. She also wrote Big Little Lies.
The Luckiest Girl Alive By Jessica Knoll
I read this book in 2015 and loved it so much. Jessica Knoll touches upon assualt and the aftermath in this compelling, well written novel.
Okay…I’m a huge Nicholas Sparks fan. Like huge. I honestly need a blog post of all Sparks books. Just read it you guys… you’ll go through so many emotions.
I would have never picked up this book if it wasn’t for a book club I was in.
Another thriller that I couldn’t put down!! I really am a sucker for a good thriller.
